Hack Cancer is a non-profit organisation which is run by a small team of hackers. Following the cancer diagnosis of one of the founders in late 2014, the project commenced, with the first hackathon to be held at Google Campus in London - October 2015.
Our vision: (1) To create a strong, focussed and driven hacker community, where students, professionals and tech communities can come together and set the building blocks for technical advancements, with the specific aim to develop innovative solutions to aid the fight against cancer. (2) To raise a respectable donation for The Teenage Cancer Trust and Cancer Research from the hackathon proceeds and sponsorship donations.
This Autumn, ‘Hack Cancer’ will take place from the 10th - 11th, October. We are expecting more than 75 participants from across the UK, ranging from university students to technology start up communities.
